The photographs placed through the articles and service pages on this site come from Nappy, a free library created to put more Black and Brown people into stock photography.
Why these photos
Urban Human Resources exists for first-generation, Black and Brown professionals and for the urban organizations that hire them. When the people pictured in a salary article or a compliance guide never look like the reader, the page tells that reader the advice was written for someone else. So every person you see here was chosen on purpose, from a library built to close that gap.
The photos illustrate the topic, not the facts. Nobody pictured is a client, and nobody pictured is connected to any case, number or story on the page where the photo appears.
How they are licensed
Nappy publishes its photos under Creative Commons Zero (CC0), which allows commercial use and editing without attribution. Each photo on this site has been cropped to a 3:2 frame and resized for fast loading. Nothing else has been changed.
The license does not require a credit line. Every photo gets one anyway, under the image and in the list below, because the photographers did the work.
Other images on the site
The founder photos are of me. Images that were generated or altered with AI are labeled in their captions. Article cover graphics, tool graphics and the product images in the shop are designs made for this site. The crest and wordmark belong to Urban Human Resources.
